Sustainability & Ethical Gemstones

Ethical Gemstones

At Augusta Jewellery we care passionately about the environment and will never stop looking for ways to improve. We are proud to say we are completely plastic free.

All our promotional postcards/inserts are from Vistaprint who are FSC certified. All our boxes are from Westpack and are made from recycled FSC card. The FSC mark guarantees that the paper and card come from forests where no more trees are cut down than the forest can reproduce. This means better protection of the animal and plant life. All foresters have proper training, safety equipment and a decent wage. Find out more at

Furthermore, for every sale made through the website, one tree is planted through Ecologi. Check out the Augusta Jewellery forest:

We plant trees with Ecologi

We ensure that the materials we use for our jewellery is ethically and responsibly sourced.  Our suppliers are trusted businesses who care about their environment and local communities.

The majority of gemstones in our collection are selected because they come from countries governed by strict labour and environmental laws (for example Larvikite and Labradorite which come from northern territories like Canada, Finland and Norway). Gemstones such as Quartz, Amethyst, Garnet and Amazonite can be mined in several locations throughout the world. When selecting a supplier we always question whether they pay their workers a fair wage and practice health & safety. Furthermore, we will never use gemstones with a general bad reputation (for example Jade, Coral, Malachite or Lapis Lazuli from Afghanistan).

Our main gold plated pieces come from a trusted family run business who use recycled gold.

If we are in any doubt whatsoever about the ethics of our suppliers, we cease to use them immediately.

We constantly strive to improve and I hope this assures you that we as passionate about the environment and welfare of workers as we are about our jewellery.
